With product identification ranking among the highest-volume support requests, Kohler’s goal was to leverage AI to deliver instant product recognition and a seamless path to purchase, significantly reducing pressure on customer support teams.

Introducing Kohler Scout™.

Identifying a product – whether within a hotel, a showroom, or a home – presented a significant friction point in the customer journey. To bridge this gap, we developed Kohler Scout™, a patent-pending AI ecosystem, with a sophisticated Computer Vision pipeline that leverages deep learning models to cross-reference user-generated imagery against a complex database of over 5,000 SKUs, analysing geometry, finish, and environmental context to deliver high-confidence results in milliseconds.

Identifying a product is only the first step; the real opportunity lay in extending discovery into an end-to-end journey. I rebuilt Kohler’s technical diagram viewer from the ground up, transforming an unresponsive experience into a mobile-first, interactive parts explorer with integrated ecommerce – designed around real user needs, such as purchasing multiple parts from a single screen. The result was a frictionless path from identification to purchase, driving a 35% increase in digital revenue.

This paired machine intelligence with human expertise equipping Kohler’s product specialists to actively review results, flag images, and use batch categorisation to train and refine the model – accelerating the machine-learning lifecycle while ensuring industry-leading accuracy.
